PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA – October 1, 2025 – Cambodia Ink, a premier studio dedicated to the preservation and evolution of traditional Khmer art, is proud to announce the completion of a breathtaking new chest piece titled “Reahu Chap Haek Neak” (រាហ៊ូចាប់ហែកនាគ), which translates to “Reahu Tears the Naga.” This custom-designed tattoo, a powerful depiction of ancient Khmer mythology, was created for client Knite Huot of Boston, USA.
The monumental artwork, which took three full-day sessions to complete, showcases the pinnacle of Kbach Khmer (traditional Khmer design). The piece masterfully portrays the cosmic deity Reahu in a moment of immense power, capturing and tearing the sacred Naga. The design is rendered with incredible depth and a unique stone-like texture, giving it the appearance of an ancient temple bas-relief brought to life on skin. Every detail, from the fury in Reahu’s eyes to the intricate scales of the twin Nagas, is executed with precision and artistic vision.
“This piece is more than just a tattoo; it is a bridge between the ancient stories of our ancestors and the modern canvas of the human body,” said a spokesperson for Cambodia Ink.
“We are honored that clients like Knite Huot travel from across the world to connect with their heritage in such a permanent and meaningful way. Our mis
sion is to ensure that the power and beauty of Khmer art continue to thrive, and this design is a testament to that commitment.”
“Reahu Tears the Naga” is a powerful narrative in Khmer cosmology, and this new interpretation by Cambodia Ink sets a new standard for mythological tattoos. The design is a completely original creation, developed in close collaboration with the client to bring his vision to life. It represents a profound connection to cultural identity and the timeless struggle between cosmic forces.
